Caroline Matilda King Whitlock was a daughter of Eleazer King Jr.and Mary Caroline Fowler. She was the oldest of 12 children. She was born in Grove, New York. Her family were among the early converts to the L.D.S.Chrush. She lived in Kirtland, Ohio when she was two years old. In 1852 she traveled west with her family to the Salt Lake Valley. She crossed the plains with the Tidwell Wagon Train Company. She married Charles Whitlock Sr. Feb, 1, 1853, in Spring City, Utah. It was called Springtown at that time and they were the first couple married there. She was the mother of 6 children.
