EDWIN ALBERTI VAN TRUMP.

Peacefully, on Thursday, April 13, 1899, at Bryn Mawr, Penn., Edwin Alberti Van Trump, of Wilmington, Del., aged 59 years.

Funeral service was said in St. John's church, Monday, April 17, at three o'clock, the bishop, and the Rev. George C. Hall, rector, officiating.

The rector, wardens and vestrymen of St. John's church record with deep sorrow the loss they have sustained in the death of Mr. E. A. Van Trump, their steadfast friend and beloved associate. While the summons was sudden, they are assured that he departed In peace and entered upon the inheritance which Is incorruptible and undented and that fadeth not away. He filled so large a place that he will long be greatly missed. At an early age he took an Influential position In the Church, for years filling a high office in the Sunday-school, discharging duties of a vestryman, and lately occupying the position of an assistant to the secretary of the diocesan convention. He, In these relations, wrought so well that he deserves to be remembered as a large-minded, generous and loyal Churchman.

In the community at large he won his way to prominence, and, on the day of his death, was among our best-known business men. While we may not enter the more sacred relations of home, this tribute would not be complete without saying that they were characteristic of the man. He was domestic In his tastes. He greatly loved his own fireside. His home life was largely his real life, and in his relations of husband and father he exhibited the best traits of bis character, and we. In this extreme trial, extend our tenderest sympathy to his family, commending them to Him who doeth all things well.
