Obituary for H.G. Scott

H.G "Bud" Scott, 67, of Port Orchard, WA, died April 5, 2002, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA, of a brain aneurysm. Bud was born April 17, 1934, in Powell, WY, to Maurice L. and Violet (Sanders) Scott. Bud graduated from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, WA, in 1953. He later graduated from Olympic College in Bremerton, WA, with an Associate Degree in Science in 1960.

Bud served in the US Army from February 1954 to February 1957 serving as a corporal in the 82nd Airborne Division.On April 25, 1954, Bud married JoAnn (Housen) Scott. He worked as a Supervisory Metals Inspector at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton for 32 years retiring in 1990.

Bud belonged to the Disabled American Veterans and Spirit of Life Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, fishing, hunting, flying ultralite planes, golf, adventurous activities, and mission work.

Bud is survived by his wife JoAnn Scott, of Port Orchard, WA; a son Jeff Scott and wife Cindy, of Bremerton, WA; daughters Connie Woodward and husband Bob Haas, of Longview, WA, and Debra LeFave, of Fort Collins, CO; his mother Violet Scott, of Bremerton, WA; brothers Robert L. Scott, of Bremerton, WA, and Donald V. Scott, of George, WA; and 5 grandchildren Hanna Woodward, Brandon Woodward, Amber Scott, Anne Scott, and Katherine Scott.

Bud was preceded in death by a brother Cork Scott, and his father Maurice L. Scott.

Memorial services will be held 7:00PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, WA. An inurnment service with military honors will take place at 1:00PM, Saturday, April 13, 2002, at the Harstine Island Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Luther Center For Learning, 3901 Mullenix Rd, Port Orchard, WA 98367.
