Mrs. W. L. Brandt, 87. resident of Ames for 27 years, passed away Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora D. Howard, in Lincoln, Neb., where she had gone last fall on an extended visit. The body Is being brought to Ames. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a. m. from the Adams chapel, after which the body will be taken to Des Moines for burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Mrs. Brandt was born October 11, 1845. Her husband was the Rev. Wesley L. Brandt, a Congregational pastor, who served his entire pastorate in Iowa. Upon his death in 1905, Brandt came to Ames to reside with her daughter, Miss Iva L. Brandt, professor of textiles and clothing at Iowa State college. Besides Miss Brandt and Mrs. Howard, the deceased is survived by two other Frank Donahue Minn., and Mrs. of Sheldon, la., Roy E. Bran'dt daughters, Mrs. of St. Charles, Homer Hubbard and two sons, of Ames, and James W. Brandt of Pasadena, Cal. She also leaves a brother, Levi Ashbrook, of Primrose, Neb.
