Funeral Services for Chas. Conger Held

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon for Charles Conder with Rev. Jewell Pyles in charge. Mrs. Chas. Washburn and Mrs. Clyde Ham sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and "When I Come to the End of the Way" with Mrs. A. O. Lamoreux at the piano. Pall bearers were Chas. Washburn, Clyde Ham, Walter Cornehl, C. B. Lamoreux, Stanley Slade and Wade Troutman. Interment in the Bridgeport cemetery.

Chas. Marshall Conger was born May 11, 1884 at Sumner, Missouri. He spent his boyhood there and came to Washington as a young man in 1906, settling at Brewster. From 1908 to 1912 he served in the US Marine Corps and upon discharge returned to his home and later homesteaded near Conconully where he became a member of the Methodist Church. In 1916 he married Ethel May Welch and to this union one son, Allen, was born. Mr. Conger came to Bridgeport with his family in 1934 and resided here until 1940 when he moved to Rock Island. In 1942, because of ailing health, he went to Arizona but returned to this area in July 1946, residing with his son in Grand Coulee until his death Nov. 24th.
