Georgia Pierce, 73, of Risen Ave., Campbellsville, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001 in Campbellsville, after a long illness. Daughter of the late George W. Burress and Mary Rollins Burress, she was born on June 27, 1927 in Taylor County, Ky., and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was married to Buckner Lee Pierce on July 2, 1943, who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1991. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law and one son and daughter-in-law, Judy and Marshall Whatley and Jeffrey and Diane Pierce, all of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Marsha Whatley Logan of Henderson, Jason Alexander Whatley and Jessica Renee Pierce, both of Lexington, and Andrew Ryan Pierce of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren, Ashton Brooks Logan, John Logan V and Ann Marshall Logan, all of Henderson, and Casey Belle Whatley and Chase Alexander Whatley, both of Lexington; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pauline McCubbin and Mary Margaret and Tommy Tucker, all of Campbellsville; and two nieces and two nephews, Alice Wilson and Connie Epperson, both of Campbellsville, Jerry Burress of Ethridge, Tenn., and Carl Brent McCubbin of Louisville. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Emmett Burress on Nov. 6, 1997 and John R. Burress on June 17, 1984. Funeral was at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Gene Hall and the Rev. Delbert Dix. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Burress, John A.
