Orangeburg - Roy Barr Sr., 82, of 525 Rosewood Drive, SW, died Monday, October 8, 2007, in Orangeburg. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, in the Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Neeses, with the Rev. Frank Hay and the Rev. Harold Mims III officiating. Active pallbearers will be Michael Barr, Richard Barr Jr., Stephen Garcia, Michael Taylor, Matthew Huggins, Robert Huggins and Terry Edmonds. Mr. Barr was born June 10, 1925, in Neeses, the son of the late Chester F. Barr and the late Inez Hutto Barr. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was retired from Utica Tool Company and a member of the VFW No. 2779. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Barr. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Wray Bonnette of Orangeburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Cindy) Barr of Cordova, Ronnie (Janice) Barr of Orangeburg and Roy (Diane) Barr Jr. of Columbia; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call the residence, 525 Rosewood Drive, SW, Orangeburg and at the funeral home.
