Joseph H. Wheeler Dies In Home

Joseph Henry Wheeler, Canton, route 6, died this morning in his home at 6 o'clock, following an illness of three years. Born in Bernadotte township on Aug. 1, 1871, a son of John P. and Margaret (Harris) Wheeler, he was married on Oct. 14, 1896 in Putman township to Mary Bell Porter, who preceded him in death in 1944.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Clara Dale Walker of Canton, route 6, and Ralph Porter Wheeler of Rock Island; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Payne, Peoria Mrs. Lizzie Payne, Chicago and Mrs. Ada Wilson, Plymouth. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a farmer and with the exception of 13 years in Stark county, he spent his entire life in the vicinity of Canton.

Funeral arrangements for Joseph Henry Wheeler, who died in his home Friday, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Gerard's, by the Rev. David F. Lehr.
Friends may call at Gerard's.
Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens cemetery.
