Marilyn Sue Coy, 60, of South Whitley, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in South Whitley.

She was born Oct. 24, 1947, in Madison, the daughter of Charles Rae and Rosalie Charlotte Scroggin Warner. She was raised in Vevay and graduated with the Class of 1965 from Vevay High School. She and her husband had lived in South Whitley since 1988. She was employed by Dana Coupling in Columbia City since 1992 and was a former employee of the U.S. Shoe factory in Vevay for 16 years and Indiana Knit Wear in Columbia City. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 1906 in Columbia City, the UAW 2049 and the Centerview Community Church.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Wilfred E. Coy, whom she married Sept. 30, 1966; three daughters, Jill Susan Coy of Fort Wayne, and Lee Ann Cicero and Jade Star Lopez, both of South Whitley; her mother, of Fort Wayne; six sisters, Barbara Rae Scudder of Vevay, Carolyn Ann Ruter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Greta Lee Connell of Los Angeles, Calif., Joetta Cheryl Drobek of Leo, Becky Ruth Ross of Columbia City and Harriett O. Hathaway of North Manchester; two brothers, Charles Noel Warner of Arcola and Paul Thomas Warner Sr. of Sunman; a nephew and niece raised by her and her husband, Jonathan William Smith of Versailles and Tina Lynn Nettrover of Roan; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Juanita Smithers; and two nieces.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A graveside service and burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Vevay Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
