An interesting fact to add to his bio is that he took the surname of his mother's family as his father was born Pieter Diercks per Peter Peck Schuylerville NY 12/15/2011
Per an application for membership in the National Society of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, he was "Capt. of Provincial Forces 1667 and Capt. of Foot Co. of Schenectady 1669. Magistrate of Fort Orange 1655-1679."
