Mirlend Buckley Albiston, age 91, passed away Thursday, March 18, 1999 in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born March 22, 1908 in Franklin, Idaho; son of Joseph Henry and Zina Buckley Albiston. He married Malinda Hodges in 1928, later divorced; married Nefton Peterson in 1948, later divorced; married Flora K. Jones in 1951. She preceded him in death.

Mirlend was a pioneer in the radio and TV industry in the intermountain area in the 40's and 50's. During World War II he worked for the Air Force as a radio technician and worked for NCR as a computer troubleshooter until his retirement in the late 60's. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church and enjoyed attending the temple until his health began to fail.

Survived by two sons and three daughters, Marion H. (Hendrika) Albiston of Bountiful, Muriel (John) Walker of Murray, Gerald M. (LaRae) Albiston of Prescott, Arizona, Bobbie (Kent) Buttars of Layton, and Sandra (Larry) Shortt of Walkerton, Indiana; step-children, Beth Bingham of Hooper, Donna Beus of Roy, Melba (Mike) McCowan of California, Harold (Bonnie) Jones of Nevada, Linda (Paul) Hackworth of California; sister, Rhea Blanch Barnett of Midvale; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Flora, parents, one brother, and three sisters.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Hooper, Utah City Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main.
