Mourneng Drucilla ALLEN

Mourneng Drucilla ALLEN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. ALLEN, was born September 9, 1842; fell asleep 12:15 p.m., April 16, 1920; age 77 years, 7 months and 7 days. She was married to Harvey FARTHING in 1866. This union was blessed with three children, Jolie, Charlie and
Mertie. Her companion was called to his heavenly home November 22, 1876. On November 22, 21 years later, Charlie joined his father above.

"Aunt Mourneng", as she was known by her many friends was one who was loved and respected by all who knew her. Hers was a life of Christian acts, worthy of imitation, never boisterous, never contenious, by mild in word and act and every ready to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate than herself. Her last suffering was so intense that she prayed for the dear Lord to take her. Her last words being: "Take me Lord, raise me higher, higher, higher." Her prayer was answered. She fell asleep.

Funeral Services were held at Bonnie M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. T. L. BOSWELL. Interment at Hickory Hill. She leaves to mourn their loss two daughters, Jolie and Mertie, of Bonnie; three grandchildren, Earl FARTHING of Arthur, Ill.; Homer FARTHING of West Frankfort; Mrs.
Hattie CHILDRES of Benton.

She always gave her grandchildren a place in her home as well as in her heart. She also leaves four great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
