EMMA VERONICA DESMOND STIPECK, 85, of HOLMDEL, died Sunday, Oct. 2, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in New York City, she lived in Manhattan before moving to Keansburg in 1962 and to Holmdel two years ago. Mrs. Stipeck was a cook at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel, for 20 years. She was also a cook at the Abjoe Villa, Keansburg. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, and a member of the Kinlan's Association, Keansburg.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Stipeck, in 1974; her parents, Cornelius and Lillian Casey Desmond; two sisters, Margaret Anderson and Loretta Sommers; and four brothers, Cornelius Desmond, Peter A. Desmond, John Desmond and Joseph Desmond. Surviving are her children, James and Marie Stipeck of Middletown, Carolyn Stipeck of Sunnyside, N.Y., Joanne Kinsella of Littleton, Colo., and Annmarie Stipeck of Englewood, Colo.; a sister, Muriel T. Russell of Keansburg; five grandchildren; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Ave., West Keansburg. The funeral will be at 8:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Church, Keansburg. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
