SUSAN DIANE BURKETT-FLETCHER, born October 8, 1947, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2008 after a courageous year long struggle against cancer. She died peacefully and is now in Heaven with her Lord Jesus. She graduated from Galena Park High School in 1966 and can be best described as a "giver".

Susan was preceded in death by her father, G.B. Whitfield and is survived by her mother, Doris E. Hammons and her husband, Garth E. Fletcher; her son and daughter, Robert Burkett and Carrie Burkett; her brother, Gerald Whitfield; her sister, Patricia Whitfield; three step-children, Garth Fletcher, Laurie Chandler and Tammy Hood; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26th in the Chapel of Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home with the Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow later in Gause, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name. Susan was loved by many and will be missed beyond words.
