Born on Dec. 26, 1922 in Glen Lyon, she was a daughter of the late Bruno and Mary Gregorowicz. She attended Newport Township Public Schools.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 539, Glen Lyon, and had been a member of St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon, a CCD instructor at St. Adalbert's Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and had served as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America in Glen Lyon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank Chabala, in 1998; a son Bernard; sister, Edith Mitarnowski; brothers, Joseph and John and a twin brother, Kazmer. Surviving are her sons, Dennis Chabala of Larksville, Frank Chabala of Mount Pocono; grandchildren, Melissa Franks, Amanda Chabala, Brandon Chabala, and Frank Chabala Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jacob Chabala and Sylvia Chabala; sister, Sophia Gregorowicz ; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Newport Township. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
