Guion Winterstein, Creel was born and lived most of her life in Jackson, MS. She was a hardworking and devoted mother of four children that she raised alone. In 1956 she moved to Gulfport and married Jack Creel. They were married less than a year when Jack died suddenly as the result of an automobile accident.
