Trabue Anderson entered military service in 1898 as a Private in Company D, Tenth Kentucky Regiment of the Kentucky State Guard. The unit was reformed in 1899 as Company D, Third Infantry, Kentucky State Guards and Anderson was promoted to Corporal. He continued his service in the Army and rose through the ranks to Master Sergeant during the Great World War.
