Adam R. BROWN, son of William R. and Elizabeth (RAPER) BROWN, was born in Clay Township, Owen County, April 8, 1855, and departed this life January 4, 1916. He was married March 29, 1877, to Catherine BROWN and to this union were born five children, three of whom survive, namely: Maude BRIDGES, of Solsberry; William R. BROWN, of Knowlton, Iowa, and Benjamin T. BROWN, of Alpena, South Dakota.His wife, Catherine BROWN, died November 14, 1895, and on September 13, 1898, he was married to Rosa BRUNER. To this union were born six children, four of whom survive, namely: Edna, Aetna, Enoch and Mary.He had been afflicted for over nine years with asthma and bronchial trouble. He was only confined to his bed nine weeks.He was a true companion and a kind father and will be greatly missed. But God though best to take him away.The last few years of his life was spent in the mercantile business at McVille. He was postmaster there at the time of his death.
