Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Mount United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bessie Givhan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her father, Bill Williams of Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven daughters, Gloria Jean Townsend, Martha King and Sandra Lynn Townsend, all of Shannon, Brenda Gatewood (Wallace) of Byhalia, Mary Berry (Rush) of Pontotoc, Alice Faye Love (James) of Pontotoc, Lorann Dorrough (James) of Calhoun City; four sons, Robert Townsend (Joyce), James Townsend, Vincent Townsend and George Townsend Jr., all of Shannon; four sisters, Era Mae Lee of Shannon, Laura Spates of Verona, Annie Williams and Helen McConner (Oscar), both of Grand Rapids, and Mamie Stanfield of Okolona; five brothers, Lonzo Williams and Freddie Williams of Shannon, Rev. Earnest Lindsey of Nettleton, Roger Williams (Julia) of Grand Rapids, and Curtis Williams (Mary) of Dunkirk, N.Y.; 26 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, the Rev. George Townsend; three grandchildren, Stevie Berry, Marika Berry and James Townsend Jr.; one brother and two sisters; two sons-in-law, Larry King and John Graham.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today, and a wake will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today.
