SILVERTON - Funeral services for Edward R. Adams, 86, retired banker and businessman at Silverton, will be held from the Memorial Chapel of the Ekman Funeral Home Monday at 3 p.m. Adams died Saturday morning at a Salem rest home where he had been for a few days.
Adams was born Feb. 16, 1868, in Portsmouth, Ohio, and came to Silverton 49 years ago. He was associated with the old Coolidge & McClaine bank as cashier for a number of years, and later owned and operated the Silverton Greenhouses.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Sarah Jane Adams, whom he had married 63 years ago in Ohio; two sons, Earl J. Adams and Ralph Adams, both of Silverton; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Thostrud, Silverton, and Mrs. Eleanor Jensen of Everett, Wash., five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
