Mrs. Mary Fath, 94, of Westville, died Saturday, March 3, 2007.

She was born April 6, 1912 in Coketon, W.Va., to John and Anna Haviley, and had also lived in Schererville, Ind.

Mrs. Fath was a kind, gentle, loving mother and grandmother who was so very proud of her family. She enjoyed doing many things, including gardening, reading, golfing, bowling, traveling, and baking. Her cookie jar was always full.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Melville Fath.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, John and Mike Haviley.

Surviving are four sons, Melville Jr. (Thelma) and Kenneth (Lorraine), both of Westville, Robert (Monica) of St. Germain, Wis., and Richard (Marilyn) of Crown Point; 13 grandchildren, Sheree Warnke, Gary, Joe, Jamie, David, Laura, Rick, and Renee Fath, Connie Nell, Kris Nielsen, Erica Buckton, Dana Omo, and Tracy Cornett; and 23 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Otis, with Rev. Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Friends may call at Newhard Funeral Home, Westville, Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Otis.
