Wayne C. ‘Jake' Taylor Wallsburg, Utah and Mesa, Arizona:
Wayne Clark Taylor, age 91, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Orem, Utah
He was born August 23, 1908 in Wallsburg, Utah, the son of Heber J. and Daisy Clark Taylor. He married Emeda Gardner February 29, 1928, in Wallsburg, Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1933.

Wayne attended the Wallsburg Elementary School and graduated from Provo High School, where he received "All-State" recognition in football. He was a member of the LDS Church where he served in many capacities.

He enjoyed doing things with his family, and working with the youth in his community – especially coaching youth baseball. Wayne worked as a carpenter and an equipment operator in construction. And he always enjoyed his little farm and his horses.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Emeda Taylor of Wallsburg; Jack (Gweneth) Taylor of Pleasant Grove; Dot (Verlin) Simmons of Providence; Bliss C. Taylor of Daniel; Kent (Wilma) of Lindon; and Ted H. (Sheral) Taylor of Preston, Idaho. Also, survived by 25 grandchildren, and 65 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Wallsburg LDS Chapel. Friends may call on Thursday, June 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main St., Heber City, and on Friday from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the LDS Chapel. Interment will be in the Wallsburg Cemetery.
