He married Alberta Nevada Woolf on September 30, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. As a machinist, mechanic and inventor he spent his life doing what he loved-building and flying home-built aircraft. He helped support hismother and siblings through the depression years working as a mechanic. During World War II he taught aircraft mechanics at Jordan High School for the Army Air Corps. He possessed the first private pilots license issued in the state of Utah. He designed, developed and built wheel and brake assemblies for home-built aircraft which are in use all over the world.

A member of the LDS Church, he served in many callings, including the bishopric, Sunday school and Stake mission. A deep and abiding faith in God and his example of Christ's reputation for honesty in all his business dealings was well known in the community. He will be deeply missed.
