Wade was born in Killeen, Texas, to the late William Tom and Viola (Lewis) Young. On Dec. 19, 1946, he married Jeneta Howe. He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years during World War II and the Korean War, and retired from the Civil Service Department in Ft. Hood in 1974. He was a member of Sparks United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Novel Young.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jeneta Young, of Waco; daughters, Donna Hughlett and husband, Marzie, of Lorena and Debbie Burton and husband, "Shorty", of Waco; sister, Tomilene Klipstine, of Kerrville; grandchildren, Kevin Hughlett, of Hewitt and Kristi Burton Ronje, of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren.
