Jonneal "Jonnie" Eshleman, 68, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at her residence after a 14-year-long fight against breast and colon cancer. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Doug Shelley, pastor of East Side Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
She was born to John H. Dixon and Mary Ethel Bennett, July 14, 1939, at Ponca City, Okla. Jonnie married Robert "Bob" Eshleman, Aug. 11, 1957, in Newton, Kan. They moved to Big Spring from Junction City, Kan., in 1981. Jonnie was a florist, homemaker and a member of the Lamont Methodist Church in Lamont, Okla. She was totally involved with her family, friends, pets and she loved helping other people.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Eshleman of the home; two daughters, Kay Jeffries and her husband, Kirby, of Red Rock, Okla., and Dee Speck of Big Spring; one son, Robert Darrell Eshleman and his wife, Marion, of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Ali Jeffries, Casy and Colton Speck and Raphael Eshleman; two step-grandchildren, Kevin Jeffries and Robert Jeffries; three step-great-grandchildren, Kelly, Kaden and Haley Jeffries; step-mother, Dorothy Dixon of Tonkawa, Okla.; one sister, Vivian Smith of Enid, Okla.; one brother, Richard Dixon of Blackwell, Okla.; and also her best friend and beloved pet, Abby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Grace Shaffer.
Pallbearers will be Rob Eshleman, Kirby Jeffries, Andy Smith, Casy Speck, Colton Speck and Raphael Eshleman.
