Billy J. "Jimmy" Butler, 64, of Oakland died July 22, 2008, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Oak Grove, Tenn., native was born May 5, 1944. He was a retired truck driver for Vanguard Trucking.

He was a son of the late Bernard Butler and Dana Thompson Butler.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Teddy and infant Royce Butler.

Survivors include his wife, Avon Turner Butler; a son, Devin Butler and his wife, Shelly, of Oakland; a daughter, Dana Young and her husband, Neel, of Richardsville; four grandchildren, Chase Butler, Summer Butler, Jordan Young and Dalton Young; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Smiths Grove Cemetery.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member.
