Patience Brown was born in Little Brittain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on 20 Apr 1743. She was the daughter of Joshua Brown and Hannah Gatchell. In 1760 she married William Morrison. In 1762 William Morrison is deeded the first land in the Mount Union area, about 250 acres, in what is now the eastern part of Mount Union (Kistler). He built a log house and mill.
