Services for G. F. "Leo" Holt Jr., 66, of Whitehouse, were held March 22, at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bennie Portwood and the Rev. Roy Thoene officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Holt passed away Sunday, March 20, at his residence. He was born March 30, 1938, to the late G.F. and Florence Holt in Tyler.
Mr. Holt lived in Smith County all of his life and attended Tyler High School. He was the owner and operator of Holt Memorial Lettering Company and worked in the monument business for over 40 years. He was a ham radio operator and member of the East Texas Amateur Radio Society and the St. Johns Masonic Lodge No. 53. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed playing the fiddle, riding horses and calf roping. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.
Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Billie Sue Horstmeier.
Sur vivors include his wife of 47 years, Freeda Holt of Whitehouse; daughter, Karen Agnew and husband David of Troup; granddaughter, Ashley Halbert and husband Robert of Lindale; brother, Temple Holt and wife Sylvia of Tyler; godson Ronnie Joe Ivy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Larry Ivy, Carl Ivy, Eddie Ivy, Glenn Green, Shannon Strickland, DuWayne Holt, Bob Lamb and Charles Wood.
Memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, 10519 FM 344 East, Whitehouse, 75791, in honor of Leo Holt.
