After extensive on the job training at Brooks Upholstery Shop in Kilgore, Travis Opened his own upholstery shop in their home in Kilgore. With the help of his wife, Florene, he built the shop into a thriving, successful business with a reputation for exceptional, quality work. Eventually they moved the shop from the home to a building on Commerce Street in Kilgore. Like a pioneer lady of old, Florene worked along-side her husband while baring him five children and caring for their home.
