Married (1) Alice (Bacon) Bancroft on March 31, 1647 in Dedham, Norfolk, MA.
Married (2) Elizabeth (Metcalf) Bancroft on Sept. 15, 1648 in Dedham, Norfolk, MA.
Various Research Notes
No records exist that confirm John Bancroft and Jane Boynton are his parents. Colonial Records of Massachusetts dated 2 Sep 1633 proposes that Thomas was the son of John Bancroft's brother Thomas, who was a minor poet in England.
This Thomas Bancroft did not marry Hannah Gardner in 1676 as his wife Elizabeth was still alive and did not die until 1711. The other Thomas Bancroft (1626-1684) is buried in Springfield Cemetery.
