Dewey McSwain, 55, of Big Spring, died Sun, Jul 20, 2008, in a Midland hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 am Wed, Jul 23, 2008, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Clydell Chapman, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, Odessa, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tue at the funeral home.
He was born Jul 13, 1953, in Big Spring and married Debra McSwain on Jun 8, 1976, in Big Spring.
Dewey was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. He had worked as a stocker in area grocery stores before going to work as a security guard at Howard College.
Survivors include wife, Debra McSwain of Big Spring; three daughters, Cherrie Lee Burcham and husband, Jacob, Kassy Ruth McSwain, and Rachel Lynn McSwain, all of Big Spring; two brothers, Michael Lee McSwain of Midland and Larry Dean McSwain of Big Spring; and one sister, Linda Jo Phillippe of Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee McSwain and Ruthie Pachall McSwain.
