STEVE ALONZO

Steve was born in Beaumont, Ca., on January 13, 1935.

He served in the year of 1958, in Korea as a Corporal in the U.S. Army.

He married Carmen while on leave from active military service on August 23, 1959. Their marriage lasted just one month shy of 49 years.

Steve was employed as an automotive mechanic and was universally recognized as a mechanical genius in his field. His employers include; Bill Davis, Dutch Chandler Motors and Fresno County.

Steve was a master chef and shared this gift with everyone and anyone who was blessed to enter their home. He also was recently recognized for serving as Master BBQ for St. Mary's Catholic Church for the past 40 years. This was just one of the many acts of charity that Steve thanklessly displayed.

Steve earned an excellent reputation as an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to camp in his tent trailer with Carmen as often as possible.

Steve will be sorely missed by a great many friends and family reaching far beyond the Community of Sanger.

Steve will be remembered by those who knew him well for his incredible generosity. He could never refuse anyone in need of assistance with anything that could possibly go wrong with our cars, our homes or our lives. Many of our family members as well as complete strangers benefited from Steve's compassion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Lupe Alonzo; brothers, Frank, Pete and Gilbert; and sisters, Catherine and Margie.

Survived by his wife, Carmen Alonzo of Sanger; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger, Ca.

Interment at Sanger Cemetery.
