Agnes Pfannenstiel, 75, 1002 Canterbury, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at her home. She was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Munjor to Hilarius and Bridget (Jacobs) Leiker.

She married John R. "Bob" Pfannenstiel on Sept. 9, 1946, in Munjor. He died Dec. 24, 1987.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church and the church Ladies Guild, both of Hays.

Survivors include four sons, Steve, Munjor, Father John, Baltimore, Md., Greg L. and Joe, both of Hays; two daughters, Joanne Wasinger and Kayleen Steinert, both of Hays; a brother, Larry J. Leiker, Munjor; three sisters, Viola Burns, Belton, Mo., Delores Hoffman, Victoria, and LaVerna Samuelson, Dodgeville, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Joerg, and five brothers, Gilbert, Robert, Frank, Charlie, and Richard Leiker.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church with Fathers John Pfannenstiel and Bill Surmeier officiating; burial in St. Francis Cemetery in Munjor. A St. Nicholas Ladies Guild rosary will be at 5 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Mary Elizabeth Maternity Home, 204 W. Seventh, or for Masses.
