Lauderdale County Enterprise:

10 April 1925 – Mr. Wm. Adkerson was found dead in bed at his home near Central Wednesday morning when his wife went to awake him for breakfast. He had not been well for some time, but his condition was not considered serious. He was 63 years of age and is survived by his widow, four sons and three daughters.

17 Apr 1925 - We wish to thank our many friends for their kindness and sympathy shown us in the sudden death of our darling husband and father; especially do we thank Dr. Joe B. Lackey.

William Adkerson and Miss Mary Bolden were married 13-Jan-1890 in Lauderdale County.

According to the 1900 census, his wife was Mary A. He had children; Virtis L., Lilly C., Carl J., and John W.

He was buried at New Hope by Burgess and Peters Funeral Home. His parents were Ira Adkerson and Catherine White.
