Beverly was born Oct. 18, 1939, in South Muddy Township, Jasper County, the daughter of Neal and Esther (Clagg) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Charles Sparks on June 29, 1957, and he survives.
Beverly was retired from Fedder's after 34 years of service. She was a member of Latona Church of Christ and enjoyed collecting porcelain bells and angels, vegetable and flower gardening and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles Sparks of Effingham; sons, Randy Sparks of Effingham, Rick (Kathy) Sparks of Robinson and Rodney Sparks of Lithia Springs, Fla.; brother, Burl (Mary) Johnson of Newton; sisters, Norma Clark, Geraldine (Scotty) Clark and Mary (Floyd) Marshall, all of Newton; grandchildren, Dana (Michael) Poston and Wade Sparks, both of Robinson, Matthew Sparks and Katie Sparks, both of Effingham, Lucas Sparks and Wyatt Sparks, both of Dieterich; and one great-stepgranddaughter, Jullian Poston of Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers.
Funeral services celebrating Beverly's life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, with Brother Dale Hood officiating.
Burial will be in Trexler Cemetery, rural Newton.
