"Sarah Boone was the daughter of Edward Boone (brother of famous Daniel Boone) and Martha Bryan Boone. Sarah married William Hunter in 1787. They were the parents of three children; William Jr., Mary "Polly" and Dudley.

William and Sarah were living in Dry Valley, Tennessee in 1853.

Sarah was interviewed by Lyman Draper and wrote serveral letters of personal accounts of her family; 22C60, "My father was killed 40 miles from the station. He was stabbed in 7 places..."

Sarah's mother, Martha, was a sister to Rebecca (married to Daniel Boone). She and her family were with Daniel when he came to Tennessee to build the fort near what is known as City Lake near Cookeville.

Sarah was killed by indians July 18, 1866 in Dry Valley, Tennessee at age 95."
