Ada "Schatzie" "Nanny" Ethel Braeutigam Binford Carter, was born October 1, 1914 in Fredericksburg, Texas to John Wolfgang and Katie Ethel Braeutigam and passed away July 18, 2008 in Euless, Texas. Longtime member of Agape Memorial United Methodist Church in Dallas, where she taught Sunday School and was a volunteer; Democratic Precinct Chairman in Dallas for many years; belong to the Braniff Women's Club; she entered many embroidered items in the State Fair of Texas of which she won many ribbons; and before having her family she was a registered nurse. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Binford, who was Chief Deputy Sheriff of Dallas County and her second husband, Jack Carter. She is survived by her daughters, Kathie Binford Chambers and husband Reubin and Annelle Binford Apple and her husband Charles; step-son, Mike Carter and wife Cathy; step- sister, Margaret Cervantes and husband Robert; sisters-in-law, Doris Binford and Ruth Braeutigam; grandchildren, Julie Tomlinson and husband Walt, Alan Nelson and wife Leslie, LeAnne Apple, Chuck Apple and wife Sandy, Brian Carter and wife Rhonda and David Carter; great grandchildren, Ryan Cox and wife Laura, Evan Cox, Lauren and Caitlin Nelson, Chaise Apple, Zachary Apple, and Reagan Apple, Hayden and Jack Carter; many nieces and nephews; and her "other daughter" Peggy Reed. Visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel, Rev. Chauncey Nealy, officiating. Interment to follow Hillcrest Memorial Park.
