Mary M. Aguirre of San Marcos, 99, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. Mrs. Aguirre was born in San Marcos on Dec. 28, 1907. She lived in San Marcos all her life and witnessed San Marcos' growth with amazement. She would always comment on the heavy traffic and would say that she would now get lost in San Marcos.

Mrs. Aguirre is preceded in death by her husband Fred Aguirre, son Alfred (Freddie) Aguirre, sister Francis (Camila) Montez and brothers Paul Montoy and Paulino Espinosa. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Lila Aguirre of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family members would like to thank the nursing staff at Hays Nursing and Rehab Center for the care of Mrs. Aguirre. A special thanks to the Hospice team: Ann Ellertson, RN, Roger Hagen, chaplain, Joann Connor, social worker and Kim Ybarra, nurse's aide, for their professionalism, loving care and dedication.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today followed by a service at 7 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guadalupe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to made, in her memory, to the charity of your choice.
