The Derrick, Oil City Pa., Weds., Jan. 17 1951:
" PROMINENT KNOX RESIDENT IS DEAD
Alex E. Kahle, 65, of Knox, a retired businessman of that community, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Franklin hospital where he had been a patient four days. A son of the late Levi W. and Chloe Wood Kahle, Mr. Kahle had resided in Knox for 23 years. He was employed formerly as a building supply dealer in Knox and was retired several years ago. Surviving are two sons, Lynn Alvin of Emlenton and Wayne A. Kahle of Knox; brothers and sisters, Mrs. S.S. Torrey, Dr. I. Dana Kahle, Glenn Kahle all of Knox, Dr. L. N. Kahle of Wheeling, W. Va., Dr. H.H. Kahle of Leeper and Dr. G.W. Kahle of Marienville, RD. The body was taken to the Boyer funeral home, Knox."
