Robert was the son of Willard Cooper Pixton and Isabella Carter. He married Vera Gardner on 27 June 1917 in Salt Lake City. They were the parents of Brig. Gen. Allan Gardner Pixton, Pat Pixton Barker and Lois Marie Pixton Park.
