Lorraine E. Benoche, 81, of Mount Morris died Thursday, July 17, 2008, in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mount Morris. Born Dec. 24, 1926, in Mount Morris, the daughter of Leon Benjamin Beard and Ethel Frances (Johnson) Beard. Married Francis "Pete" Benoche on July 27, 1973, in Oregon; he died in 1988. She was a hand mailer in the mailing department at Kable Printing Co. in Mount Morris, retiring in 1993 after 50 years. A lifelong Mount Morris resident. Member of Women of The Moose, Mount Morris Moose Lodge, Mount Morris American Legion Auxiliary, Mount Morris VFW Auxiliary and Graphic Arts International Union Bookbinders Local 65-B. Attended Mount Morris High School. Survived by stepdaughter, Maretta (Marvin) Birkholz of Forreston; sisters, Lola Mae Burchett of Rockford and Darline K. Beard of Mount Morris; brothers, Donald "Ike" (Joan) Beard of Mount Morris and Ray "Bud" (Vicky) Beard of Oregon; and many extended family members. Predeceased by parents; husband; and brothers, Len (Kiki) and Llewellyn Beard. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, in Finch Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Father William E. Budden officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 20, in the funeral home. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Morris. Memorials to Mount Morris Ambulance Fund.
