Mrs. John Kersting, 91, 1800 Indian Hills Drive, died Sunday at a local nursing home after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Kersting, the former Elizabeth Ahlstrand, was born Jan. 22, 1884, in Essex, Iowa. She had been a resident of Sioux City for the last 60 years. Previously she was a resident of Merrill, Iowa.

She married John Kersting on April 9, 1907, in Osmond, Neb. Mr. Kersting died Jan. 1, 1960.

She was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany Church and the Button Club.

Survivors include two sons,John Kermit of Sioux City and Jerome Myron of Detroit, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Frances) Dames of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Hilma Bakke of Sioux City; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

The Larkin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
