DAVID E. HEMBY, 67, DIES

Funeral services Friday afternoon at Brenner Chapel.

David E. Hemby , 67, died at 10:12 a.m. Today at his home on Pittsburg R.R. 2. He had been in poor health for several years in severely ill the past six weeks.

Mr. Hemby was born June 15th 1882, in Butler County, Missouri. He moved to Kirkwood district from Exeter, Mo. In 1935 and had maintain his home there since that time although he later operated a grocery store in Joplin until retiring in 1948 .

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mattie Hemby of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Adilla Lancy of Manzanola, Colo., and Mrs. Lota Ruth Perry, 2710 North Michigan; four sons, Woodrow Hemby of Joplin, Norman Hemby Pittsburg R.R. 2, Theodore Hemby of Eric and Glenn Hemby of Kansas City; one brother Phillip Hemby of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and twenty grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brenner chapel. Interment will be in Crocker cemetery.
