Architect. Supervised construction and detailing of New York's City Hall from designs by himself and Joseph Mangin. McComb was the architect of other extant New York buildings, including Alexander Hamilton's home (The Grange), Gracie Mansion (the mayor's residence), and Castle Clinton. McComb's own house still stands on Harrison Street. He was also noted for the design and construction of lighthouses.
