Abner Lee Jordan, 78, of Albany, Georgia, died Thursday, Oct. 26, in an Albany Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Big Sandy Baptist church with the Rev. H.T. Garrard, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Jordan was a native of Washington County the son of the late Augustus Jordan and the late Jennie Edwards Jordan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, Florida and retired from the Florida Department of Transportation.
Survivors are two sons, Thomas Jordan, Orlando, Fla., George Jordan, Albany; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Wilson, Sandersville, Mrs. Cora McGee, Sparta, Mrs. Dovie Lord, Mrs. Jessie Brooks, both of Tennille, Mrs. Ruth Jackson, Harrison; one brother-in-law, Gerald Pierce, Palm Harbor, Florida; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Townsend Funeral Home of Dublin was in charge of arrangements with interment in Big Sandy Cemetery.
