Iva Lea Martin, 95, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Fielder Road Baptist Church. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Arlington Funeral Home.
Memorials: May be made to Future Generations at Fielder Road Baptist Church.
Iva Lea was born Oct. 26, 1912, in Stockdale to Ollie L. and Charles C. McMeans. She graduated from Stockdale High School and attended Sam Houston State Teachers College.
She was head of bookkeeping and customer service for the State Bank of East Fort Worth, which later became Fort Worth Bank and Trust.
A longtime resident of Arlington, she was a member of Fielder Road Baptist Church for over 30 years. She volunteered in security for the church, had served as president of the Senior Adult Choir for many years, was a pianist and was active in Living Long and Loving It, a senior adult group of the church. Iva Lea was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M.M. "Doc" Martin.
Survivors: Son, Donald Royce Martin and wife, Mamye; grandson, Larry Martin; granddaughter, Christie Martin; and great-granddaughter, Makensie Martin.
