Linda Faye (Broshears) Bowman Chastain departed this life and went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 1:55 a.m.
Linda was born June 17, 1944, in Evansville, Ind., to Bernard and Ruby Broshears, who preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three sons and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Juli Bowman of Boonville, with whom she resided, Leonard Bowman of Chickasaw, Ala., Dennis Bowman of Huntingburg, Ind.; husband, Rex Chastain Sr. of Satsuma, Ala.; two stepsons, Rex Chastain Jr. and wife, Paula, of Long Beach, Miss., and Danny Chastain and wife, Cathy, of Saraland, Ala.; also her brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins along with many family friends.

She was raised and schooled in Tennyson, Ind.

A longtime resident of Mobile, Ala., she worked 23 years at Berry Steam Plant, where she received her GED and college diploma to become one of the few female assistant plant control operators.

She would work 18 hours a day, 6 days a week, but always made time for the ones she loved.

Her hobbies were Arts and Crafts, and she clearly loved her dogs, Slick, Baby and Shane.

She was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church. On June 1st, 2008, the Rev. David Sutton, wife Brenda, Cindy, Sharon and Kristie Murphy, Randy and Karen Hemmings and Karen S. Young came to her home and baptized her. A special thanks to those loving people.
