"His Father was John M. Rawlins. He came to Texas by ox train from Illinois in 1835.
His wife died in 1948 shortly before they would have celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary. He had seven children; two sons and seven daughters; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren."
