George Walker Barry was the son of Richard Charles Jefferson Barry & Mary Elizabeth Simmons, who are both buried at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster. He lived at 2804 St Augustine with his son, William A Barry for many years and is buried next to his daughter, Mary Barry Cheshier & her husband. He came to Texas in October 1881 when he was only 6 months old, with his parents and 9 older siblings. Settling first at Duck Creek in Dallas County, they moved to the Lancaster area and remained there the rest of their lives. He was married 3 times and was Divorced at the time of his death - widowed only once - his first wife and mother of his only 2 children, who died in 1906.
