Services to be Thursday for Avon Replogle.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at the Teegarden Congretational Christian church for Avon S. Replogle, 57, who died Tuesday morning at the local hospital from internal injuries he suffered in a fall Monday evening at his residence, northeast of Union City on the Wenrick Pike. Rev. Earl Lantz and Rev. M. V. Smith will be the officiating ministers, and burial will be in the Teegarden cemetery.
Mr. Replogle was in his barnyard and had climbed a pole while trying to fix a light. He fell 10 feet and lit on his back, striking his head against a cement walk. The attending physician reported that no bones were broken.
He was born in Darke county on April 21, 1888, the son of William and May (Riegel) Replogle, and attended the Cottonwood school, near Woodington. On May 23, 1917 he was married to Mabel Ream at the United Brethern parsonage in Union City by Rev. James Replogle. He had followed the occupation of farming, and was a lifelone resident of Darke county.
Immediate survivors include his wife; one son, George, at home; three brothers, Jim Replogle of Greenville; Lloyd Replogle of Ansonia, route one, and Donald Replogle, Dayton, and three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Rhoades, Greenville; Mrs. Jessie Smith, Union City, route five, and Mrs. Wanda Runner, Greenville route four.
The body has been removed to the residence from the Brooks funeral home where friends may call.
His uncle, Jacob Replogle passed away Monday evening at his residence southeast of Union City.
